Q: What kind of art do you deal with?

A: We work within all segments of the art market ranging from Old Masters to Contemporary Art. Liquidity of the art being a main criteria.

Q: Which art do you buy and lease?

A: We currently either buy art clients wish to lease or art they already own and want to finance.

Q: How does your art loan program differ from leasing?

A: The underwriting process is similar however our art loan program is for those looking for shorter term financing, typically 6 months to 1 year.

Q: Where will the art be stored for the duration of the financing?

A: With a sale-leaseback the lessee maintains possession in most cases. With an art loan, Artemus will arrange for the work to be stored at an agreed upon location. 

Q: What are the financing rates?

A: We offer single digit rates. The rates are derived from the collection’s fair market value and liquidity.

Q: What is the duration of a typical transaction?

A: A sale-leaseback is usually 5 to 10 years. However, the client may terminate it at any time during the lease through the buyout option. An art secured loan is typically 6 months to 2 years.

Q: Who pays for insurance?

A: Insurance coverage is arranged by us and the cost is added to the clients expenses. 

Q: Who are your clients?

A: Our clients are private collectors, art dealers, art investors, corporations, hospitality groups and real estate developers.

A: We are located in New York City but our services are offered globally.
